Happy with players we've signed but to not address the problems in defence is nothing but negligable, not as if there haven't been defenders available, in order for pardew to have any face we need some defenders who can actually do that and a striker, my suggestion
Virgil van dijk-8million
Micah richards-4million
Danny ings-8million
Joel campbell-1year loan with option to buy

Before anyone says there not good enough 2 days i'd take them over nothing why we didn't go for pea or ba ill never knoe and ferdinand yeah he's old but would have done a better job than williamson

1.) Over the last 8 months Williamson has been our most consistent player. Pleased for the lad getting a goal toady and wish it was the winner. i'm sorry to say it but Collo is our weak link in defence. We should have Willo and MYM in CB starting to develop a good partnership between them. We then need a defender like Richards as a back up to them along with STaylor

Right fat mike time to sack parcel and his staff, get David Moyes in as manager on a 5th at deal, give him 4th plus any money from player sales to rebuild a team. Never happen but it's what should happen

andyingils

{Ed001's Note - parcel? That is a brilliant autocorrect that!!!}

1.) No its not what should happen.

David Moyes is just a side step to Pardew, boring and negative football and isn't a motivator.

Roberto Martinez is a top young manager with modern ideas and is clearly a HUGE upgrade to Moyes.

And Newcastle United need a manager like Martinez. Its not like Newcastle to play boring long ball. We need a manager who can get us playing again like we were under Sir Bobby and Keegan, someone in the mould of Martinez/Rodgers/Pochettino.

I wouldn't really be happy with someone like Di Matteo, his style of football isn't that good.

For me, as a Newcastle United fan, style of football comes first, play it how it should be played. And also importantly we need a manager who is a winner-i have my "heart set" on laudrup.

2.) I don't think you can play down the job Moyes did at Everton. Look at the youth they have brought through, they used to finish top table most seasons and they did play some ok football. Is Moyes the man to change Newcastle? Probably not. As with most successful clubs you need the right owner and the right manager, I couldn't see Moyes working with Ashley very well. Untill we have a new owner, we are stuck with Pardew

3.) Don't get me wrong Moyes is a good manager and got Everton as a consistence top 7 team but it's just that his style of football is just as horrible as pardew's, and would hardly be an upgrade to pardew

Another transfer window and another month of the doom mongers to crawl out from under the rocks, you know if you spent half the time supporting your club rather than moaning and talking poop we've had a good season so far considering you lot were hurting ppls ears with talk of relegation, cabaye was always going to go deal with it and wwell see who we sign, sit moaning we never buy I think we've signed some pretty decent players since ashley took over but I forger you wise suppirtive fans won't ve happy unless were wasting 30-40m just to sign someone jokes of fans

andyingils

1.) Andy everybody is entitled to an opinion weather you agree with it or not. Yes we in a good position much like 2 season ago. Nobody is asking for 30/40 million pound to be spent just that the club shows some ambition that matches most fans. Cabaye did want to leave no doubt but who can blame him when the owner's only concern is to milk the club and sit comfortable in mid-table. Do you not want challenging for a top 4 spot or maybe win a cup? Or are you happy the way Cashley runs the club. In my opinion I would say you are in the minority.

2.) Haven't seen a fan wishing the club to waste 30-40m on someone, why would they?
So fans want our club to sign players to improve the team who doesn't want that?

3.) Andy, 8th is at least where this club should be for it's size? Good season? It's been average really, yes we've best Man U, Chelsea spurs but losing the derby and an FA CUp match to Cardiff is not good enough. We're not asking for Titles or 50m being spent every summer, we simply want an owner who cares about the fans, and has ambition.

4.) Andi has some valid points but maybe expressed in wrong manner. we have to be realistic and realise its never going to be the case under mike that we spend 25 to 30 million every window. spent over 20 last january but that was left over from sales etc. yes cabaye gone but he is replaceable and if can be replaced cheaply then why not. mike isn't a football man and that's where he lacks. he's a business man and his credentials can't be questioned in that area. unless your alan sugar or richard branson. if we bring in grenier or cabella for example then we've replaced cabaye and got a striker on top so not a bad window. 1 out 2 in. always a plus.

5.) I agree with you to a point Durham mag. to a degree but if our owner showed some ambition we wouldn't have to keep replacing players and hoping that the replacement can fill the boots of the likes of Cabaye. We need to be building a team around our better players not selling them. We will get nowhere like that other than where we currently stand. Saying all that where we are is where Cashley wants us.

Fnuklnuk- you want a reason not to moan heres one for you its called loyalty to your club, every window its the same negativity end of the day were not going to sign messi, were comfortable in the league and have had a lot to cheer about this season and while yeah I think its stupid to let cabaye go without having a replacement lined up Ill take the fact were safe and see what happens in the summwr, get behind your club there's a difference between having an opinion and actually making your own club sound doomed
