are the strong rumours on Dominik Szoboszlai correct?
also are newcastle looking to bring in 4-6 players in this window to help deal with the busy schedule next season.

thanks for the grear work!

magpie27

{Ed002's Note - Dominik Szoboszlai (AM/M/W) Newcastle, Arsenal, Inter Milan and Chelsea have been keen to take the very versatile player in the summer. RBL would prefer to keep the player but are open to taking a Chelsea player in part-exchange - but Chelsea will resist that whilst there is still a chance of Gvardiol possibly agreeing a move for next summer to replace Silva. And RBL are not keen to lose two or possibly three players to Chelsea this summer having already had to replace Laimer as well. I suspect Chelsea will move on to another target. Newcastle will press and have already made an offer to his agent, but will need to sell their project. I would discount Arsenal who have another target and am not aware of Liverpool showing any interest.

I cannot give numbers but I expect quite a few ins and outs in the summer.}

Hi ED'S

hope you are all well and enjoying this season!

with summer looming and the excitement building, are there any main targets Newcastle have in their sights for a potential ST

nunez?
tony?
Hugo Ekitike?

magpie27

{Ed002's Note - My understanding from talking to the scout in Germany is that it is something like this:
Duvan Zapata (S) Atalanta are open to a sale - Newcastle have enquired. The problem the club will face will be persuading the player that the project is good enough for him to join. Want some sort of “get out” clause, but something may be possible.
Hugo Ekitike (F) Versatile forward has done well in the few months playing in Ligue 1 but nothing like enough to earn a step up two the Premier League. It is unclear who recommended him to Newcastle but they will offer well over the odds to sign him in January. West Ham have sent scouts. This could go horribly wrong as it is a significant step up - but I suspect something may well be possible for Newcastle.
Taiwo Awoniyi (S) Newcastle has an interest. Of interest to Southampton and Newcastle. aught by the WHU scattergun as well. Again, something may be possible for Newcastle.
Andrea Belotti (S) of Torino is out of contract in the summer and will move elsewhere, regardless of the interest of Newcastle.
Anthony Martial (F) Was offered to Newcastle. Seems unlikely.
Patrik Schick (S) Bayer Leverkusen do not wish to sell but know the interest of Manchester City, Spurs, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus could see the price rise significantly. Interestingly, whilst all have a declared interest, none have him as their first choice. West Ham and Manchester United have both sent scouts to watch him although seem unlikely destinations. Newcastle's scout in Germany has added him to the lengthy list he is creating. It is very unlikely that he would be interested in a move to Newcastle.
Gaetan Laborde (S) Newcastle keen but he only joined Rennes in the summer and they will not want to sell.
Youssef En-Nesyri (S) Arsenal, West Ham and Newcastle have approaches to ask about availability and price for the player who is inconsistent. Makes little sense.
Bamba Dieng (S) Availability of the player was asked about by Newcastle during discussions over another player. I suspect interest has moved on.
Gianluca Scamacca (S) Milan and Juventus interest is sustained and Paratici may well have taken his prior interest to Spurs as a viable alternative if they are to lose Harry Kane. Inter, if they were to lose Martinez, could look to him. Newcastle and Fiorentina have both been scouting the player but neither have a realistic chance of signing him.
Darwin Nunez (S) Newcastle have enquired but there is no chance of him making such a move.}

reports trippier deal is done to Newcastle in January? Any truth?
His name seems to of disappeared from the bookies odds aswell.

magpie27

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any “done deal” but Newcastle are one of the interested sides. I would be fearful if the club pay over the odds to secure him. The club need to get the structure right and take a sensible approach based on the knowledge of football people - and it remains a worry that is not the case.}

Hi Ed,

hope you are all well,

as January transfer window is closing in on us massively, is there any updates on who Newcastle are targeting and the likely hood of a large budget?

or any other information at all?

cheers

magpie27

{Ed002's Note - Mike Ashley left Newcastle in very good shape financially so budget is not an issue. Newcastle have been taking advice over potential targets but January is not a great time to buy and clubs should not be buying for the sake of it. Regardless, they have had a very experienced third party scouting players in Germany including Florian Wirtz but they are far from attractive at this ime. It is a great pity that the club have yet to find a suitable Director of Football. Aside from the numerous players that are being suggested and offered to the club (misfits like Rabiot, Coutinho, Dembele etc.), Newcastle need to make sure they are addressing the on field issues they have and need to look to adding a new first choice goalkeeper, a CB, CM, AM and a S as a minimum before the start of next season. They need to keep away from the older players being offered around like Koulibaly, Ramsey, Hazard and Kroos. They have declared an interest in Odysseas Vlachodimos (G), Duje Caleta-Car (CB) - and Newcastle have approached Marseille about a January transfer, Abdou Diallo (CB) and Ben Mee (CB). Ross Barkey and Lingard have certainly been considered and the club are keen on Gaetan Laborde (S) and Gonzalo Villar (CM).

is there a time scale on which both parties are trying to get the deal over the line ED? and does this mean mike ashley isn't prepared to invest in summer signings.

magpie27

{Ed002's Note - It takes time and Ashley has always allowed investment in players - perhaps not enough to the liking of the fans.}
