Newcastle set to spend a 'War chest' this summer. Apparently the person they trust to do so is the wally with the brolly. ( God help us).
Ins:
Newcastle conceded a LOT of goals last year and will look to strengthen by adding Van Dijk. Competition will be high so this could force the price up, but he is number 1 target. Micah Richards is also a prime target to add depth RB and CB.
McClaren's influence will persuade us to sign Leroy Fer after he was very successful in his Twente team. Thauvin or Ayew will be brought in to compete for wing positions.
Now up top we need two men coming in, Austin will be tempted to join us wearing the number 9 shirt. Castaignos will be another addition, he was also manager by McClaren at Twente.
Also expect Marveaux and De Jong to be classed as 'new signings'.

Outs
Players leaving will be Taylor who will be traded with QPR in Fer or Austin deals. Tiote will be sold to the highest bidder and Cisse will also be sold.
Expect bids for Krul, Janmaat and Sissoko. If the bid meets there valuation then they will be sold.

Disagree that Taylor will leave and nor should he. When he s in the side we concede fewer goals but the problem is his injury record. If he can stay fit for most of a season then he is a top CB and could force his way into the England squad, but even if we get half a season again it will still be better than Van Dijk who will cost loads and has made his reputation in the SPL against championship at best players in a team that dominates possession. I can't remember a defender in the recent PL era who has come down south and done well but can remember Boumsong!
I do agree with Richards and with McLaren having made him his first choice RB with England I think we stand a decent chance of getting him if the board will pay him a decent salary. Him and Taylor would be immense at CB with Janmaat at RB and Dummet at LB but we would still need another experienced CB and I would go for Huth. Possibly Castignos but I would not be surprised to see Luuk De Jong arrive for the same reasons or Tiote stay and get back to his best. Also wit his time spent at QPR it could be enough to persuade Austin to sign for us I also think we should move Heaven and earth to get Cabaye backand give Marveaux anoter chance as he is a quality player that was never given a decent chance by Pardew and we would get nowt for him if he was sold anyway. Perez should play as an attacking midfielder

Van Dijk is a good shout actually. thing is about richards he hasn't played consistent football in nearly 3 years, but thinking about it, it would make sense to bring him in along with another centre half as richards can cover janmaat

van dijk andrichards would be a good cb combination but celtic would want at least £10 million for van dijk and can ashley afford to spend that with what he has put into the defunct club in govan area of glasgow?
