I am so sick of people saying about Ashley and not spending the cash. And these quotes of the £60m for TV, it gets so boring. Same as saying we have made the made all the money we have spent through transfers. What people forget, if we sell two players for £30m, but then get in 5/6 new players, even if it is just for the £30m we spent, we still have to pay 5/6 players wages instead of 2. Now if you add those up, that is quite a few million a year for all those players.
Also, I think people forget Ashley said it will be a 4/5 year journey. He is trying to get the club stable financially and able to be self sufficient, because that's what we need, unless any of you guys are a billionaire who want to take over? He is getting a fantastic foundation, he is pumping money into the youth system (unlike the great Messiah Keegan, who nearly destroyed our youth system).
Now do not get me wrong, I have sworn, I have shouted and vented my anger at Ashley, he has made some questionable and truly spiteful decisions. But I think he is getting this club in the right direction.
Just because we have had 4 good seasons in the last 22 does not mean we are one of the top 5 teams in England. Yes we have great support but I think our supporters need to wake up and stop living in the Keegan and Robson days!
