If there is any truth in the David Moyes rumours then Newcastle's future will suddenly look a billion times brighter.
He's an excellent manager despite walking into and being kicked out of the Manchester United mess that was always highly likely to follow Fergies departure.
Moyes proved at Everton he can manage without multi millions to spend while also delivering consistent European football, if you could get him and back him 100% through thick and thin for 2 to 3 years I think the Mouse/Newcastle combination could well be your dream ticket.
Probably the key to getting him might be to resist the temptation to give McLaren loads of stick week in week out and ditch the demonstrations showing your self's to be an attractive proposition aposed to a thankless one that's way to much hassle to even consider for any manager who has serious options else where.

That's rich from a goner whose supporters annually call for Wengers head despite him delivering CL football every season, having little money to spend until recently whilst playing the best football in the PL and winning the odd trophy. And NUFC fans get called unrealistic!! If we had what you have had since Wenger has been at your club we would all be a very happy bunch at SJP.

Hi ed, can you send gunner 62 the web address for arsenal rumours. He posts more on her than Vida

3.) 29 Sep 2015 11:37:42
At least Vida seems to know what he is talking about as most of it has actually happened, which is more than can be said for some on here.
You know what I mean Like?

4.) 29 Sep 2015 22:54:23
Gunner 62 Moyes could be a great option for Arsenal after yet another CL failure

Steven Taylor? Without the injuries how good would he have been.
For me John Terry's equal.

Congratulations on yesterday I wish you all a UNITED future that makes up for your past.
Best of luck and I really hope Ashley means what he says and you ALL pull together, because a NEWCASTLE where everyone is on the same side and pulling in the same direction could become some force for sure.

Ed we were talking about Brendon Rodgers not allan Pardew?

{Ed001's Note - ??}

Must be my southern accent Ed :-)

22 May 2015 18:22:51
Good luck Sunday I genuinely hope you stay up and don't get Steve McLaren as your next manager either, religation or umbrella man? Can't think which would be worse and both would be totally unfair on anyone, even spurs.

1.) 23 May 2015 12:14:09
the wally with the brolly is a major upgrade from john ' am a geordie yee nar' carver

2.) 23 May 2015 17:22:52
True desree but that's like saying a car with no engine and wheel is Better than a car with no engine no wheels or doors, neither are fit for purpose.
Carver is a company man who no one respects but all use to their own ends.
It will be difficult getting anyone established to come at the moment so I'd go for a lower league manager with potential, Bristol city manager looks perfect, did well at Portsmouth in even more difficult circumstances than he would have to face at Newcastle and if you fans could convince him you wouldn't hate him if he didn't deliver a premier league and champions league fa cup treble in his first season he might join you

3.) 23 May 2015 20:03:22
All I want g62 (and I'm sure the majority of fans will) is a credible manager who is a purist. We want an honest guy who is going to bring attractive football and hope and excitement. Someone that's going to get the morale up, if we got in someone who ticks those boxes, he will have the backing to the hill I can assure you of that.

4.) 24 May 2015 10:14:22
Well J I hope you get one mate, if I could write your script you'd stay up, get an up and coming manager who would be in it for the long haul and want to build a Newcastle empire creating his own money from sales and balancing the books every inch of the way, he would start well winning 7 drawing 2 and losing 1 of your opening 10 games next season making you top of the premier league, then draw the next 7 then a win followed by a defeat dropping you to 7th place at the turn of the year and then see what treatment he got from you all!
If you backed him rather than call for a demonstration to get him out I'd wish you every success and hope you got some silverware that season but if you called for his head i'd hope Ashley sacked him reappointing Carver and religation followed religation until you were in the conference north and Ashley was still in charge :-).
Its time to give the next manager real support no matter who they are or where they come from even if it is south of Watford

5.) 25 May 2015 13:39:55
G62 we campaigned to get rid of Pardew because we needed change. In my time being a fan I can count 3 managers we campaigned against. Souness, allardyce and pardew. if you have watched being interviewed all 3 have something in common. they think they are better than they actually are, play dire football and then bs the fans about how unlucky they are when fact is they just play a boring brand of football. Souness still complains that the fans cost him his job at newcastle - the man is a clown who can't manage jack. We ask to watch entertaining football, imagine a george graham arsenal fighting relegation every season, losing to spurs 3-0 at home every season and seeing all your best players sold and you still don't come close to what we put up with. i'm starting a gunner62out.com campaign if you don't stop.

Ask hughton, gullit, dalglish, keegan, roeder, ardilles or jim smith what the fans are like and they will tell you about the support.

You watch too much ssn, don't believe the hype.

6.) 27 May 2015 10:45:55
desree love your comment about gunner62out.com. campaign m8 and yes I recon he does watch too much ssn (too much time on his hands? ) . hopefully now we have retained our premier league status we might leave us alone .

7.) 27 May 2015 11:22:04
bit of a typo error . it was supposed to say he ( gunner62 ) might leave us alone

10 May 2015 20:24:37
Yesterday was a good day for you, you stop the losing run and results go your way making safety that bit closer.
But not one post?

gunner62

1.) 10 May 2015 21:31:15
we are all sick of patronising arsenal fans telling us to be grateful for Pardew!

2.) 10 May 2015 21:38:05
seriously Gunner 62, I think we can all see that if we stay up nothing will change. The club have made no announcement or shown any intention to hire a quality coach and invest in the squad. We should be following Southampton, swansea and evertons lead. But we are just in a state of inertia and going nowhere.

I know we should be grateful to have the best coach in the premiere league! I would like to see Remi Garde here, a good coach who plays positve football won't need to motivate players, they'll have 50000 screaming them to victory.

3.) 10 May 2015 22:13:02
Ah yes gunner, we're all rejoicing and drinking in celebrations, that we managed to get a 1-1 draw at home against West Bromwich Albion. We should be very happy at managing to create only 3 or 4 chances throughout the whole game and only conceding 1! Of course we can't have our expectations too high, we should be grateful for losing 8 in a row and being 17th!

4.) 10 May 2015 23:38:43
it could be worse, we could be forced to watch ozil, sanchez, cazorla and Ramsey challenging for 2nd place and the FA cup. Two words on the subject, Bruce Rioch

5.) 11 May 2015 08:10:13
I totally understand your total disillusion with Ashley of course I do but do all you can to get your team over the line then protest in the best way possible by not buying season tickets or anything else until things change not promises of change but the best manger and players are there 100%.
But until safety is secured set aside your grievance's and get behind the team because it might be a very very long time before you see premier league football again if you don't do all you can now.

6.) 11 May 2015 22:55:29
what is the point of premier league survival, if not this season then next for sure. Ashley will buy cheap players who aren't fit enough and hire a cheap coach. Premier league survival means one thing, making more money for Mike Ashley, we aren't spitting the dummy out, We have had 8 years of this and we are all at the end of it and prepared to walk away.

The fans are turn up every week and support the team. I can't say that of the players, coaching staff, club directirs and owner. The sad fact is the fans have no say and no power. 70m tv money means that gate receipts aren't the main source of income.

This has now become a mexican stand off with now winners. whatever happens the fans lose out.

McLaren is staying a Derby phew your luck just changed, I couldn't possibly think of a worse choice for the job at hand.

Tom Boswell I think his name was Ed, or Howard Cunningham to most :-).
Downing is probably the most over bought and over priced player I can remember, what did Kenny Pay for him 18 or 20 million?
He makes Falco's season at utd look like good business

gunner62

{Ed001's Note - that's him G62. I should have known you would know.}

Maybe Gnarby and Jenks on loan too, I'm sure Patrick would use his friendship with Arsene in Newcastle's best interest.

Was it Ashley who drove Allerdyce and Pardew away? Two managers whos carers never exactly suffered because of their Newcastle exit and both who've feared aa lot better without Newcastle than Newcastle have without them.
Where were you in the table when each left? But no absolutely nothing that's ever gone wrong in any way shape or form has ever had the slightest bit to do with the fans? If you really believe that then your as far away as ever?

Before Ashley the debts were getting out of control and spending on players in both fees and wages who had only come for one last big payday was painful to see not as an Arsenal but as a football fan, watching Michael Owen get fit just in time for the England game but not be available for Newcastle on 100k a week I remember thinking how much better the club and its fans deserved from people who take extraordinary wages from them.
Ashley quite rightly put an end to that and I think wanted to both balance the books and build a team the club could both be proud of and genuinely afford to have, but once things became a them and us situation I think he thought do I need this and remembered what he did best and concentrated on making money for himself.
The situation Newcastle now finds its self in is not all down to Ashley at all he has played his part but so have many others along the way and the fans are a long long way from blameless and the only way it will ever change for the better is to become Newcastle united again.

Because he doesn't have Newcastle's best interest at heart anymore, I think he came in with the intention of both making money and delivering the trophies and success that have eluded the club for so long but realised the second part was always going to be a thankless uphill struggle that would be very draining so decided to what was easier and drain the club and so atleast getting half the job done he set out to do.

If you can come up with the 20 mil Arsene would want I think Theo to Newcastle would be a good move for all Baldie.
He's never going to be in the Roben or Ribery league but he needs to become more than he has with us, Liverpool is his next club I think.
