I think its simple without a striker who can actually score in this league we are going down! All the other teams that were short of attackers and forwards splashed the cash and got forwards through the door: (Hull, WHU, WBA, Southampton, Everton, Leicester and Stoke) and because they have they have at least 1 foot on the ladder where as we have decided to buy our ladder in the B & Q Christmas sale!!!!!
In every aspect of life I am a positive and optimistic person but being an NUFC fan has taught me to be REALISTIC ! The feeling it gives me inside watching my club suffer like this (AGAIN!) is killing me, so I am just going to stop watching NUFC until there is something worth watching purely because a little part of me dies every time I watch them play! (its bad for my and every toon fans health!)

1.) Dickie I think most fans feel the same as you.

For me it is the helplessness and just having to watch the everyday garbage coming out of SJP

What is the solution no one seems to know. The mainstay is from Ashley he has no clue about football and as long as the figures work he is happy. No one can tell him if this team is relegated he will loose fortunes. Of course he cares BUT only from a monetary point of view.

He did not listen to his advisers when he bought Newcastle he could only see positive money predictions, so why listen to them now.

52000 fans enrench us in this mess and whist Pardew is a poor manager things will continue even if a new mangaer is installed, perhaps a small change in fortunes but still a mess.

These players are all English and were stand-out players for their teams. They are also young with their best years ahead of them and have all been relegated but proved themselves at Premier League level;

Nathan Redmond (Norwich) rm/rw
Jordan Mutch (Cardiff) cm
Steven Caulker (Cardiff) cb

They should all be very interested in returning to the highest level and should be able to be acquired at a reasonable price.

What are people's opinions of the players and would they fit into our team?

dickieboy88

1.) All good players and that is why you will never see them at Newcastle

2.) Why would any of them want to have their skills and ability coached out of them by our sub standard incapable coaching team of Pardew, Carver and Stone?

3.) Well said Faircomment yes Why we have NO credibility to bring players on or through it is a joke just like the whole club

4.) Because you saw the Cardiff lads a couple of times on tv doesn't make them outstanding my daughter goes to cardiff often and she said Caulker makes lots of mistakes in defence (hence lot of goals against) and Mutch is in and out of games and a bit lazy when things aren't going his way. I do like redmond

5.) Art, why do feel the need to post the same stuff over and over. Instead of being a fan who sits talking crap, why not support or be quiet?

6.) Dickie all three would be certain improvements on what we already have, if not in the starting XI, certainly from the bench.

Caulker still has plenty of room to improve, Mutch I think could add some depth, whilst Redmond is a miles better player than Jonas or Obertan.

7.) StuW fans been quiet too long that why the club is in the state it is better you sit ant home and read a comic because Newcastle at the moment are comical.
Any opinion on here is acceptable even yours

8.) Think back to this time last year before all the positives come out
We unfortunately do not support a team of normality that was taken away almost 6 years ago
We can hope there is an improvement
to attitude and respect of the fans by Ashley because without that the same will continue

I am just thankful at this point that the joker wasn't at the club last January when we got 5 Frenchmen through the door or we definitely would be back in the Championship.

There is also no way we can loose 5-8 players in the summer and not replace them with new quality players. Surely not even the great and all power crazy MA can be that naive, can he?

Bigi, Campbell, Dummett, Haidara, and Armstrong need to play more games too not just cup games they need a little run to be truly judged.

thoughts?

dickieboy88

1.) Now that we are just about safe from relegation we should start playing Bigi Haidera etc and bring back Campbell from st mirren (what a waste sending him up there) also abeid and connor newton need to have a run out, last week Gosling was our only midfield sub how bad is that

2.) Agree with both these comments

As is Ashley via his mouthpieces indicates any action or fans refraining from buying season tickets or on match days will affect the team we put on the pitch
What can you say we bought no one how worse can it be

NO mention of the last 12 months where the club have taken 130+ & any summer signings will be funded by sales. Talk about turning things around
Accept what is happening and have a mediocre mid table team Protest and not buy tickets and we the Fans destroy the club Apathy Idiocy or what

3.) Art: 100% agree. Mediocre's the right word to describe our team now, and two or three cheap signings won't improve matters at all if two or three (or more) of our better players move on or lose interest. Trouble is, 50,000 fans turned up to see a meaningless match against one of the least exciting opponents. Makes you wonder what Pardew/Ashley think 'pushing on' means, if Europa place is bad news. There's no way 'two or three' signings could drag this lot into a top four place.

Spot on Tigerwhenroused, Sissoko through the middle to attack and defend and pace out wide, best to try something different and fail rather than stick to what we already know is not working 4231.

Pardew may very well be tactically inept, but we have 1 recognized no. 9 that is not in good form. The newbies have not settled in and are short of confidence. Cabella loses the ball too easily and clearly needs to bulk up. Riviere is no target man he needs someone to link up with. Sissoko was poor yesterday didn't track and close down Moses before the cross (which was lucky because he didn't look up once). De Jong is injured and was supposed to play as a supporting striker and set-piece taker. The passing was atrocious yesterday, gave the ball away far too easily.
I would like to see Pardew go 442 against swansea to give us some structure and give the defence more support and hopefully have better build-up play. I would also like him to give some of the man of the match dead-wood at the club a chance and remind the usual first teamers that they are not automatic selections.

The team I would like to see;

Krul
Janmaat, Taylor, Coloccini, (haidara or dummet)
Obertan, sissoko, colback, ameobi
Cisse and Riveire

Haidara and dummet have both played to the same levels in my opinion but I think haidara is better technically.
Put sissoko back where he belongs in the middle (engine room) driving at the centre backs and put some local lads in the form of ameobi and taylor for some fight in the team.
Give obertan a chance at least he can cross.
Hopefully pardew will notice colback can't cross and use janmaat or dummett to take corners.

I honestly think pardew is doing the best he can with what he has. why he let HBA and YB go is beyond me but a net spend of 200K is so poor.

I for 1 would like to see Andy Carroll play in the B&White again. He has never been the same since he left and I believe he never wanted to go.

The worst that could happen is we start scoring some goals from set pieces!!!!!!

Vida you might be right about Frank Clark but Pardew has never made players better. It was the league the fans and the passion that made them better. As long as the players NUFC make better never play against us and continue to sell for a higher price than we payed I for one am happy! We have to let the decent players go so that they can get CL footy, because it sure ain't coming here! We can't even spend any of the money we got from the league only 200K odd more than we got from player sales. Ashley must be looking at everything long term with the facility upgrades (training ground and screen) but what about the now? I can see us spending again in January where we are usually one of the busier teams and pick up bargains or players with at least match fitness and playing time under their belts!!
