By all accounts it's not just the fans Pardew has lost, it's the players as well unsurprisingly. Steven Taylor was overheard telling someone that the players were taking bets on when Pardew was getting sacked! There really is nothing left for Pardew here except his paycheck over the next 6 years or so. #pardewout
1.) Hopeflly the final 20 minutes of saturday is a springboard for the season.
In fairness to Pardew the team has always struggled when we haven't had a recognised striker.
I am willing to back the team and keep dreaming. All I want to see is some effort and a bit of intent to win a game of football.

Maybe Riviera can only score when we're wearing our 2nd kit? Nice to get a win regardless of the manner.
1.) Great play by Haidiera to give Dummet the chance to score a great goal. Yes will take a win anytime.
Perhaps Cisse Santon De Jong Aarons Krul and Tiote all playing in this team will make a differece BUT it will be a while until that happens and Collo Williamson and Saylor will be the weakness in all out matches.

Have to admit I'm impressed with the amount of business completed so far and I'm hoping these players are up to the challenge! The regime still have a long way to go to make up for the past few years but I'm praying they have learned from their mistakes and we will continue to improve both onfield and off-field.
Would love to see us sign an established striker too, Benteke (if fit and well) would be good but whilst we're talking to Villa I'd also enquire about Vlar! Had an amazing world cup and we could do with more at CB as Colo prone to injuries these days. Not really sure what other strikers are out there, I'd prefer Prem experience but if not Rhodes or Ings could be a decent gamble but it's the cost that puts you off. Would still take Remy back.
Either way, I'm optimistic for once and looking forward to an improved season.

As much as I hope De Jong comes good for us ( and I'm especially liking the agadoo song) I can't help but worry that if he can't do it in Germany, is he good enough for the EPL? It's also interesting that both our main strikers are here on loan having rejected us in the not so recent past. Either way I'm behind them whilst they wear black and white and I'm hoping we add at least one more before we smash the mackems this weekend.

Anyone else think that whilst we're talking to Lyon over Grenier that we should also grab Gomis for a few million?
If we did go for this then I'd want another striker brought in as cover. When fit, Carroll is a very effective player but that's the problem, he's rarely fit. 15 mill is a bit of a gamble and for a similar priceor just a bit more we could do better. Not sure what the situation is with Benteke's fitness but he may be a better bet. Or perhaps Rhodes or Ings. Not sure what's out there tbh but hopefully the club do and we get a couple more good players in.
