Ed is there any truth in this rumour about a big bid for a striker.

Andytoon

{Ed002's Note - Would a medium bid for a forward be enough Andy? I have explained Newcastle are looking to add a striker if they can at the right price. The size of the bid is really subjective.}

Have you heard any more about townsend? And how much do you think aubameyang would cost?

{Ed002's Note - Sunderland, Watford, Newcastle, Bournemouth and Southampton have all indicated known interest in Andros Townsend - but it was WBA who entered discussions in respect of including him as part of a deal for another player. However, Townsend has shown a reluctance to take the WBA option and Spurs want to separate him from any part exchange deal. They are after a straight £14M in cash (no loan to buy deal, just cash)which will scare of most interested parties. My expectation is that Newcastle will push ahead and make an offer, although, at least initially, not the asking price.

Aubameyang is not an option for Newcastle at all.}
